Jan Outters is Director, Technology & Standards at Ateme and leader of a standardization team, where he helps the Research & Innovation team develop future technologies for video processing and delivery, and drive partnership projects. He is also chair of the DVB commercial module that manages commercial aspects for DVB technologies and is DVB steering board member.

Throughout his 20 years in the television business, Jan has developed new technologies and products for media delivery at SES, defined European Standards for UHD at Samsung Electronics, and defined specifications at Philips (TP Vision). Prior to that, he represented the German public channels on spectrum matters. Jan also represented industry interests in various organizations like ETSI, CEPT, ITU, Digital Europe, ICDM, and national bodies like FAVN, Italian UHD Forum, DTG and German TV Platform.

Jan holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Ecole National Supérieure de Radioélectricité et d’Electronique de Grenoble (ENSERG) and a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Karlsruhe.
