RheinMain University of Applied Sciences

Stand: E80
The RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (hsrm) offers over 70 degree programs across two campuses with an international network. Approximately 12,000 students are enrolled in the departments of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Design, Computer Science and Media, Social Work, and Wiesbaden Business School in Wiesbaden, as well as in the Department of Engineering in Rüsselsheim / Main. hsrm is recognized for its practice-oriented teaching and application-focused research.

Led by Professor Mike Christmann, the laboratory for image processing within the Department of Engineering has focused its research on Color Science for over a decade, particularly in HDR and Color Space Conversions.

Through the EVI (Enhanced Video Imaging) research program, a variety of SDR/SCG <-> HDR/WCG cross conversion processes with patented algorithms have been developed. At MPTS 2026, hsrm will showcase the latest research results, including AI-based upconversion from SDR/SCG to HDR/WCG in real fast on standard GPU hardware. AI-based Image Reconstruction and Color Space Conversion for various standards and camera profiles will also be demonstrated for cloud-based applications. Additionally, this technology will be presented as an OpenFX plugin tool for color correction and editing products for Windows, MacOS and Linux.

Designed for seamless workflow integration, these solutions provide a user-proven color experience.
