Knox Media Hub Introduces Knox On Prem Ecosystem for Hybrid Media Workflows Ahead of MPTS
Knox On Prem Ecosystem helps teams connect local storage and processing with cloud-native orchestration

Knox Media Hub today announces Knox On Prem Ecosystem, a new set of capabilities designed to help media companies connect local storage with cloud workflows in a practical, scalable way.

Already in production, this powerful new suite of tools is designed to seamlessly bridge the gap between on-prem operations and infrastructure and cloud-based workflows

Knox On Prem Ecosystem expands Knox Media Hub’s hybrid workflow capabilities through two components: Knox Server and Knox Desktop. Together, they enable organizations to keep local infrastructure and master files where it makes operational sense, while unlocking the automation, collaboration and orchestration benefits of the cloud.

With Knox Server, teams can monitor local file paths and synchronize selected media and data with the cloud according to operational needs. They can also automate on-prem-to-cloud flows through Knox pipelines (the orchestration module), deciding when and how content is sent to the cloud. In addition, Knox Server can execute tasks on premises, including transcodes, MD5 calculations and customized processes.

With Knox Desktop, users can access local masters directly from the Knox Library interface, allowing them to open and play back on-prem files from the browser experience they already use to manage cloud-based assets and workflows.

Potential use cases include:

  • Monitoring local folders and automatically syncing selected assets to the cloud.
  • Triggering pipeline-based delivery and processing from on-prem environments.
  • Running on-prem transcodes and checksum tasks as part of a broader workflow. Allowing users to browse assets in Knox Library while directly opening or playing local master files when needed.

Knox Media Hub will showcase hybrid media operations with the Knox On Prem Ecosystem publicly for the first time at MPTS 2026, booth J50. Visitors will discover how hybrid workflows support faster operations, reduce friction, and create a more flexible foundation for media supply chains.
