As viewing habits continue to fragment across linear, streaming and social platforms, the search for the next breakout format has never been more complex — or more competitive. Audiences are consuming content differently, discovering shows through algorithms rather than schedules, and engaging across multiple screens and communities.

This session explores what today’s viewers are truly looking for: which genres are gaining momentum, where underserved audiences represent opportunity, and how tone, talent and storytelling are evolving in response to changing consumption patterns. From reality and factual entertainment to digital-first and hybrid formats, we’ll examine what’s resonating — and why.

Industry commissioners, producers and format creators will discuss how successful ideas are developed, tested and financed in today’s market, and what it takes to build a format with longevity and international potential. The conversation will also address the practical realities of launching new IP in a cost-conscious, data-informed environment.
